Lazy Lava Cake (Crock Pot Recipe)

Hi, my name is Marite and I am a sweetaholic... in other words, I admit that I have a very sweet tooth. And that’s not all; on top of that, I love to bake. That can be a dangerous combination, my friends. Rewind a couple years back and you would find a baked good all the time at home. I really like to make desserts from scratch, not that a box has anything wrong with it, but there’s something about making things from scratch that gives me great satisfaction.

However, after baby Zoe arrived two things happened: first, I was trying to get rid of the baby weight, and second, there is also the fact that the little free time I get –mostly during naps- is spend doing laundry, preparing for the next day, taking a shower, cooking something, etc. This means that I don't bake nearly as much as I used to now, and I do use boxes from time to time now (I try to put my own spin on the though).

The other day, I was really craving chocolate lava cake. But again, I knew I didn't have the time to make it; at least that same day. My craving was not going to wait though, so I decided to get my craving satisfied the easy way. I grabbed a box of chocolate cake, the type that comes with some sort of chocolate sauce and just followed the instructions.

I believe the only ingredient needed is a cup of water. It can't get any easier, after all, I was looking for a lazy easy way to get my chocolate lava cake (or something that resembles it :P)

Next, I greased my slow cooker and poured half of the cake batter, then the sauce, then covered with the remaining batter. I also cut a couple baking chocolate squares in 4 and placed the chunks in there, pushing a bit so they were almost submerged in the batter.

I set it on high for about 2 hours and I have to say that the results were pretty yummy. I added a scoop of ice cream and some chocolate icing/sauce that came in the box.

The results were even better than expected!

You should definitely try it :)

Besitos,
